Kid-friendly activities in Brisbane

There is SO much to see, do and experience in Brisbane, but with so many options its hard to choose the best age appropriate kid-friendly option. We’ve rounded up 5 of our top kid friendly activities in Brisbane to entertain children of all ages for an hour or a weekend.

Kids activities Brisbane Lone Pine Koala

LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY

A fun experience for kids and adults alike, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Fig Tree Pocket caters to all ages. Here you can see a variety of wildlife, but best of all get up and close and pat some of the animals. Kids will flock to the “Koala cuddling” and kangaroo feeding. Tip: arrive early morning while the weather is cool to ensure seeing all of the animals. They like to hide out in the shade in the afternoons!

Hikes for kids Brisbane

TAKE A HIKE

We’ve all felt a bit “cooped up” before and there is nothing better than getting out in nature. So why not make the most of the beautiful Brisbane weather and get outside? The White's Hill Reserve walk is easy, short and offers city views at the top (be sure to pack a carrier for the little ones). Whats more the exploration playground and cafe at the bottom keeps the kids happy too. Or Mt Cootha offers a variety of hiking options for all skill levels. Why not make the day of it by packing a picnic basket to take in the best views of Brisbane and beyond from the grassed section at the lookout.

EXPLORE THE BRISBANE RIVER

Exploring all that the river has to offer has become one of my daughter's favourite thing to do. From one end you’ll find a variety of entertainment with Goma, the Queensland Museum, Epicurious garden, their state the art playground for the older kids. The “State Library” kids corner is a great place for crawlers, little tots for exploring and creative play. While South Brisbane parklands and beach is great for all ages. Further along the river Felons at Howard Smith Wharfs (a place we don’t mind frequenting! ) a favourite amongst the adults, but great for kids with their ship wreak to play on plus kids can play and eat for free with their Family Sunday Funday.
